When we moved here we were unable to get our rather large sofa into the TV room, so, as the matching chair was almost dead on its feet, we decided to buy a new suite, these are the chairs, they are soooooo comfy.

Felixstowe is a very busy port, it was interesting to sit on the headland and watch the container ships going in and out. My friend Kate, with whom I was staying, works for a transport company based in the docks, so she was able to tell me some of the goods that were on the ships, I think the red one in the middle is the one that was carrying fireworks in from China.

Coastal defence work has meant that the beach at Felixstowe is now a lot higher up than it used to be, these steps down are surplus to requirements.

A week ago today I visited friends I've known for over 42 years, who live in a little village called Tollesbury, in rural Essex, miles from anywhere except the coast - this is the view from their back garden, gorgeous, or what?
